Best Stay Hostel At Lanta

The beds are really comfy, the staff are lovely, and the hostel restaurant serves the most amazing penang curry. Definitely the right place to stay! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There’s plenty of locker space, including small ones for valuables, and each bed has a privacy curtain. The dorm has its own shower and toilet, with more shared facilities upstairs. Breakfast was good, and the beach is very close. The woman at reception was lovely and helpful. Laundry costs 60 baht per kilo. The beds are pretty firm, though you can rent a mattress cover if that’s too much for you.

The beach is about a ten-minute walk and is a nice spot for sunset, but getting elsewhere is awkward. The nearest 7-Eleven is a 25-minute walk, and the roads aren’t very pedestrian-friendly, so renting a scooter at reception seems like a good idea. It’s cheap enough for a night’s stop, but I wouldn’t stay longer. The bathrooms were dirty and sandy.

I booked the four-person women’s dorm, and the bed was unbelievably hard, like a wooden slab with a yoga mat on it. I asked the hostess for an extra duvet to lie on after night one, but didn’t get it until my last night. I felt as if I’d been punched in the ribs. Maybe the other rooms are better, but I doubt it. I’d pay a little more for a decent night’s sleep. I’m also reviewing this on Booking.com because I can’t believe nobody else mentions the beds. The place was convenient for the short time I had left, and breakfast is included for a very reasonable price. Scooters are 200 baht a day, though don’t count on getting one here. When I asked reception when people might return them, all I got was “I don’t know.” There are plenty of other rental places, at least.
