LaRio Hotel Krabi

Reena from the hotel staff was really helpful. They can arrange activities at much cheaper rates, including pickup and drop-off, and also rent scooters. Just bring your luggage and they’ll help sort out your exploring around Krabi. Breakfast is included: a simple bowl of cereal, bread, butter, jam and juice, with tea and coffee. A great place to stay.

We booked the most premium duplex room for four nights, but the staircase was extremely steep and the room smelled of toilets during the day. The sanitation was very bad. Don’t book the staircase room if you’re with senior citizens or children. The amenities were otherwise decent. The day manager was the worst part. She wouldn’t give me her name when I asked, though there is only one day manager. She was uncooperative, arrogant and showed no empathy. She refused an extra blanket, saying the hotel doesn’t provide them. Breakfast was horribly expensive at 200 THB per person, and they didn’t even include eggs. It wasn’t a good experience.

Edd and the team were great, always smiling and trying to help, even though there was a bit of a language barrier. Check-in went smoothly. We arrived early and had to wait, but the room was ready at the time they had given us. Check-in is at 2 pm and checkout at 11 am. The lobby is small, open and has no AC. The queen room was nice, though a little small for bigger people because of the queensize bed. The location is about 1 km from the aonag. When we first walked in, the bed was made so nicely that it impressed us straight away.

Our room looked really nice, with a balcony and bath tub. The main issue was the air conditioning. It didn’t always work or cool the room down, and some nights it stayed at 28°c, which made sleeping uncomfortable. The location is alright if you’re fine walking into town, and there’s a good range of bars and restaurants nearby. Hotel facilities were poor. Hairdryers weren’t provided in the room as standard, which I’d expect from this type of hotel, and there was no bar or daytime drinks.
