PAN Beachfront Resort Krabi

We stayed in deluxe room A1, nearest to the beach, and really enjoyed being right on the shore. It's a lovely spot for couples, though facilities are limited. There's a free shuttle to Ao Nang at 9 and 4, with just one return shuttle from Ao Nang at 4 pm. The staff could have been friendlier, but that didn't affect our enjoyment.

The room's size was the issue that ruined the stay for me. It was advertised as 28 m², but the total seemed closer to 20 m², at most 22. The actual living area was about 14 m², the bathroom around 1.5 m², and the remaining 5-5.5 m² was the terrace. The spacious room we expected simply wasn't there. The difference was obvious, and I can't put it down to a measuring mistake. It felt like a misrepresentation, and honestly I felt scammed. I wanted to raise it after check-in, but my child had a fever and I couldn't deal with a complaint then. A room's size is a major factor when choosing where to stay, so this isn't a small detail to get wrong. Later I saw similar complaints from other guests, which made it seem like a recurring problem. It's a shame, because the place itself felt like a fairytale: cozy, atmospheric, beautiful grounds by the sea. The staff were wonderful, attentive, friendly, and helpful. There's tasty food, massage, free kayaks, coffee, and scooter rental on the property. But none of those positives could outweigh the gap between the room description and reality.

We had a good swim after kayaking a little farther out, since the water is quite shallow near shore and island-hopping tours stop around here to see plankton. Kayaks are free. On new moon days, you may be able to spot bioluminescence from shore. The staff were warm and welcoming, and there's a restaurant and bar on site. The kitchen has set hours, which we were fine with given how much the place is centered on nature. The view is rejuvenating; I could sit and relax there all day. The road from the main road is a bit off the beaten path, so be prepared for that. The best spots are often kept untouched, and I'd love to come back for more quiet vacations.

Stay away from this resort. We found insects and reptiles in the room, and the bathroom was dirty with a badly rusted shower. The photos I uploaded show it, and it wasn't worth the money. The owner accused us of making the towel and bedsheets dirty, then made us pay an extra 1,000 baht for them. She showed us an overpriced rate card and pressured us to pay. The place is also very isolated from Ao Nang beach. No cab wanted to come here, and the driver who did agree charged 500-1,000 baht.
