S2 Residence

We were about a 20-30 minute walk from the main tourist area at Ao nang beach, but there were plenty of nice places to eat close by. The weekend night market nearby was fantastic to walk around. We really enjoyed staying at S2 Residence. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and downstairs there was a comfortable place to sit and eat as well as a nice pool. The staff were friendly and helpful, and booked a private boat tour for us at a reasonable price. Since it was our honeymoon, they left a lovely surprise: rose petals spelling ‘happy honeymoon’ on the bed when we came back that evening.

The bed was decent and there was enough space. The hotel had a clean feel, and staff were kind, somewhat responsive and helpful when we raised problems. But there were a lot of them. The AC was broken, and it took a long time for staff to admit it before giving us another room. There was no designated hand soap, the Wi-Fi was spotty, the hair dryer worked poorly, and there was a hole in the bathroom roof. The shower and toilet weren't separated. Some towels were discoloured and stained, and we could hear noise. We travelled for our honeymoon, and one of us had been to Krabi before, so had a point of comparison. The hotel was inflexible despite being friendly. It's far from the beach, so exploring meant rideshares or long walks in the heat. With all these issues, we weren't offered compensation, and they wouldn't allow even a 1-2 hour late checkout.

For one night at S2 Residence, this was a great stay. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, and both staff and guests were friendly. It had a welcoming atmosphere, just right for a short, simple visit.

The staff are nice, and both the room and the place were very clean. The room was big and had all the amenities. The area is quiet, though there isn't much around.
