The Lai Thai Luxury Condominiums

We stayed for two weeks and had no problems. The condominium is a little back from Krabi's busy main strip, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby and Ao Nang beach a 10-minute walk away. The pool was a good spot to relax, and the staff were lovely, with the usual Thai service and a smile. Our room was clean and spacious, with a big balcony facing the mountain. Breakfast was basic, but enough to keep us going until dinner. Great place to stay when visiting Krabi!

This is a three-star place, whatever else the listing says. Breakfast staff were warm and friendly, and the eggs made to order were the highlight. The rest was decently average. The clean pool was refreshing. The gym had a decent mix of cardio and weights, but it got hot inside because the air conditioning wasn't always on unless someone was using it. Our condo was spacious, with plenty of storage and room to unpack, and it was very clean, serviced daily. We were in the back building, building 3, so street noise was limited. The location was good. The bed and pillows were comfortable, but the couch was small and uncomfortable for a room that size. The bathroom and vanity lighting was dim, the shower never got hotter than lukewarm, and there were no washcloths. The kitchen had limited glassware, and the coffee mug was chipped on the rim.

The bathroom had mold, and the room smelled muggy until we switched on the AC. The air blew straight at the bed, with no way to redirect it. The receptionist was very matter-of-fact, like others we met in Krabi. The only person who was nice was the woman at breakfast, and I was grateful to her. It feels like a motel. If saving money and being in a prime location are what you want, this is your spot. I won't stay here again.

The pool was big and clean, and towels were provided. The lift was handy, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning got cold. The staff were helpful and lovely. The hotel is quite old, but it had everything we needed. My one criticism is that I would've liked tea and coffee supplies. There was a very smelly tub of water under the sink, and it was in both rooms when we stayed twice.
