GAO Phala beachfront hostel & pool villa

There’s a wooden gazebo and marble table behind the house, a good spot for a BBQ. The place allows pets, though there’s a dog fee, and it sits by the sea, but the beach wasn’t very clean. The inside seemed neglected, and the house looked old, though not excessively so. It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, an unused attic room, and space for 12 people. There’s a kitchen with only one set of utensils. The refrigerator was broken when we arrived, but they brought another one. The worst part was asking the housekeeper to buy seafood and being charged over 400 baht when the actual cost was 1000 baht. That was our own mistake. We probably won’t return. Not impressed at all.

The houses stand separately right on the beach, with direct access to the water, and the place feels very private. There are several rooms and space for about 15 people. Freshwater showers are available, but the plumbing could be better: the showerhead leaks and you can’t adjust the water pressure. There’s nowhere to hang towels in the bathrooms or bedrooms. Wardrobes are in the bedrooms, so clothes have to go inside them.

I came with my family to relax at this private house and really liked it. The pool faces the sea. My parents especially liked that villagers sell seafood right in front of the house, and it can be ordered for a very cheap price. I’ll definitely stay here again next time.

We stayed two nights, and the house was filthy, as if nobody had cleaned it. The beach was dirty too, and the staff service was very unsatisfactory. The microwave was extremely dirty, the rice cooker didn’t work, and we couldn’t use the second floor. A strong, foul sewage pit smell filled the house and gave me a headache.
