The room had a terrible smell and bed bugs. When we first went into the family room, the child climbed onto the upper bunk and it collapsed. The thin plywood had no support underneath, so it felt dangerous for children. The air conditioning barely cooled, and even though we asked to move because of the room’s problems, we couldn’t change rooms. We ended up unable to stay in a place infested with bed bugs. Staff were rude and didn’t understand basic English, so there was no point trying to argue. The hotel name and Google photos can be misleading, and nearly all the reviews seem similar. I suspect many were posted by hotel staff, so be careful.

There were bed bugs falling from the mattress, and the bunk bed was broken and unsafe for kids. The air conditioner was set to 16 degrees but still didn’t cool, and it was clogged with dirt. Staff spoke only Thai, not English. Some people might call it a pirate hotel.

They even chased us out of the room rudely before checkout time. Getting checked in had already been a hassle: we arrived around 7pm to an empty reception, called the number on the door, and struggled to explain that we were there to check in. After a long wait, someone finally came and insisted we pay, even though I showed that I’d booked and paid online. He didn’t speak any English and couldn’t read Google Translate well, so we spent even longer trying to convince him to give us the room. He was ready to send us away. The whole place is overrated.

The receptionist was friendly, and the cafe had nice food. It was cheap, with very cold air conditioning, plus a free swimming pool and gym.
