Boxtel at Suvarnabhumi Airport

The reception experience was appalling. At check-in, we were spoken to condescendingly because we’d booked two single beds but asked for a double room. The receptionist said in a patronizing way that this usually cost extra, but they would “generously” waive the fee, even though we’d already been moved through two rooms because their mattresses were badly sagged. At checkout, nobody showed interest or even asked how our stay had been. We also had to ask twice for a receipt for the deposit prebooked on our credit card, and the staff seemed upset. Reception needs proper hospitality retraining. We’ve never been treated like this elsewhere in Thailand. We’re longtime guests who used to love this hotel under the Novotel brand. We stayed on 06.05.2026 and 22.05.2026, and compared with our last visit in 2024, the quality has fallen significantly. The rooms feel worn and poorly maintained, without the upkeep you’d expect at this price. We rejected two rooms because the mattresses were completely sagged and worn out. Unless the actual rooms get renovated, rather than just the fancy lobby, we won’t return. Breakfast quality has also dropped and no longer meets the old standards. It’s sad that you can no longer use a “breakfast” for the dinner buffet under the Novotel Brand. The typical warm Thai hospitality feels gone. At around 4-5,000 THB per night, what’s on offer isn’t justified. We’ll look for somewhere else next time we stop over at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Such a shame.

The people made this stay. The team kept my important medication safely in the hotel refrigerator for a whole week after I accidentally left it there, until I came back for it. I really appreciated their care and professionalism. The staff at The Market and the Japanese restaurant were wonderful, and the food was excellent. Nonny and Anny gave especially warm, outstanding service. The airport shuttle bus staff were attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful as well. Great location, excellent service, and lovely people. I highly recommend the hotel and hope to stay again.

We stayed in December 2025 for such a short time that we didn’t get to try the food or explore the facilities. The room was huge and well appointed, with a cute little Christmas tree set up in it, a nice touch. The location is brilliant for quick airport access, and the dedicated shuttle runs every 10 minutes.

The breakfast timing is a real advantage for early departures: it runs from 3:00 AM to 10:30 AM, which is rare. There’s a generous selection, though it isn’t luxury level, with an egg station, pancakes and waffles, fresh juices, and standard packaged drinks. Breakfast is served in the Japanese restaurant. The hotel also has Japanese, Chinese, and international restaurants, plus small shops selling souvenirs and jewelry. The property is old, officially four stars, and not modern. It’s expensive, around 9,000 THB per night for a standard room. Still, the room was spacious and comfortable, with a bathtub, separate shower, double sinks, and coffee machine. I had a pleasant pool view, and the pool area is nice, with a bar. Its best feature is how close it is to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. A covered walkway connects the terminal and hotel, and it’s about a three-minute walk to departures and the airport restaurants. It’s a practical and comfortable option for a transit stay or early flight despite the age and price.
