All the local street food stalls and exchange centers with super rates are within an easy walk, before you even start sweating. The car park is huge, and there's good northern Thailand coffee. The space feels more like a boutique hotel, with striking architecture and a huge common area. Despite calling it a “hostel,” there are no bunk beds or instant coffee here. Unbelievably spacious.

We were just passing through Bangkok and had a flight that night, so needed somewhere to leave our things and shower. The staff kindly looked after our stuff and let us use the facilities. They even found us an honest taxi to the airport. It's a very nice, modern hostel, though I didn't actually stay here.

It's tucked away on a quiet end street, so there's no traffic noise. At first I wondered, “Really? This is a hostel?” Everything feels quality, from the comfortable beds and good couches to the front patio and roof patio. There's jazz in the cafe and lobby, a cute, funny dog, and a modern minimalist interior. You can tell the owner is an architect. The scrambled egg toast and coffee are what dreams are made of. I highly recommend it!

Our private room was really cheap, but the door was low quality and had zero soundproofing. It sat beside the main staircase, so people talking and banging their suitcases could get pretty loud. The hostel itself was really nice, tucked into a quiet corner of a very authentic part of Bangkok. On the main street, a lady sold the best mango rice I had in all of Thailand. The cafe was great too, and the chicken in soy sauce was delicious.

The dorms are divided by little plywood partitions, so it almost feels like you have your own room. Bathrooms are clean and the wifi is good. Downstairs there's a wonderful, reasonably priced cafe and a space to chill, and the roof is a great spot to work. I've stayed in hundreds of hostels around the world, and this is my favorite.
