Adelphi Grande Sukhumvit

James made us feel welcome from the start. He was always friendly, smiling and ready to help with our luggage, doing it with real kindness and professionalism. His positive attitude made a difference. We also want to thank the whole hotel team for their excellent service and hospitality. Everything was taken care of, and we really enjoyed our stay.

We only stayed one night, but it was a lovely place to refresh and recharge in Bangkok’s heat. The hotel was clean, comfortable and cool, and the little washer in our room let us finally get some clothes cleaned. James, Mint, Jijy and Ray were so helpful with our short stay and late-night flight. They gave us peace of mind, so we could enjoy our last day. We’ll come back on our next trip thanks to James and his team.

The staff were incredibly warm, friendly and helpful, especially Khun Sasi James and Khun Jy Fourt Ya, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. That did a lot to make up for my one small gripe with the shower. I’m about two metres tall, and the rain shower head was installed around chest height, which was uncomfortable. I don’t personally need a bathtub in the room. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, with a kitchenette and washing machine, handy for a longer trip in Thailand when you want more independence and comfort. The hotel is on a side street off Sukhumvit Road, so it’s pleasantly quiet day and night despite the busy area. I really enjoyed my stay, especially for a longer visit to Bangkok.

The breakfast was the best we had during our Thailand trip. There was a wide choice: miso soup, salads, fresh fruit, noodles, rice, vegetables, chicken, tofu, eggs, plus Western options like bacon, ham, toast, French toast, waffles, and omelets or fried eggs cooked fresh when requested. That kind of selection isn’t something you find often. The facilities were good too, with a fitness room equipped for a full-body workout and an outdoor pool with loungers and seats for reading, working or cooling off. From the 17th floor the view was fantastic, especially at night, and the staff were very friendly. Our room, unfortunately, wasn’t clean. There were several hairs in the bathroom that weren’t ours when we checked in. Maybe it was an oversight, but it left a poor impression of the cleanliness. For me, that would be reason enough not to return, despite the otherwise great facilities.
