The staff were all polite and professional, and I liked having an ordinary fridge with no paid minibar taking up the space. The location is convenient too. If you’re in the high-rise building, the back entrance is open from 10:00 to 22:00, so you can avoid walking around the block. There’s a 7-Eleven right across from that entrance. One thing female travelers may want to plan for is the bathroom setup: there’s no handheld shower head. That made hygiene less convenient for me, especially during menstruation. A full shower at night was manageable, but rinsing properly during the day without wetting my clothes was difficult, so I often had to shower more than once. It was also harder to rinse the floor. In 2026, I’d expect a handheld shower to be a basic amenity. Checkout took a while, and the hotel doesn’t arrange taxis. We had an early flight, so a staff member helped us hail one on the street. Taxis were scarce at that hour, though, and we had to accept the driver’s price. That was a small hassle during an otherwise pleasant stay.

We’d recommend the Ambassador and would happily stay again. It’s well located, with massage shops and restaurants at the hotel. We didn’t realize how huge the property was, with two separate wings. There was refurbishment inside and construction across the road, but neither caused us trouble, and the hotel sits back from the road. Our standard room was fine: stable Wi-Fi, okay A/C, plenty of hot water, and no view from the window. The bathroom was tiny. The pool was fine and got blazing sun all day, and there’s also a large fitness center. Check-in took about 20 minutes, which was frustrating and unexpected, though we did get our room an hour before the official check-in time.

The breakfast buffet was pretty average, with a basic selection and pastries that were hard and crusty instead of flaky. There are three elevators, but they’re slow, especially at busy times. The rooms are a little dated and basic, though the hotel looks nice; the gym is okay and the pool is passable (Skywing). The location is excellent, about a four-minute walk to Nana BTS, with Nana Plaza close by and lots of places to eat and exchange money. Staff were friendly and courteous, check-in was smooth, and the housekeepers were attentive. Remember to tip them. On a personal note, the place seemed popular with South Asian guests, so if that isn’t your scene, you may want to choose another hotel 😉

The location and price were the best parts, but I won’t stay here again. The hotel is huge and needs a major makeover. Most staff weren’t accommodating, though a few were. When I got food poisoning on arrival, I made a bit of a mess on the blanket and linens. I understand the 2,000 baht sanitizing charge, but nobody even asked if I was okay. The maids were basically useless and counted every towel, coffee, and creamer. The bed and pillows were awful, and there were only one or two English-language TV channels. The pool was okay by Thai standards, but the floor felt grimy.

I spent three nights at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok on holiday and was fairly happy with the stay. Higher floors have a nice city view, and there’s a fitness center and swimming pool. Breakfast was quite good, with plenty of Asian and Western choices. Nana BTS Station is nearby, with lots of restaurants, bars, and street food vendors around. The food prices in the area are relatively high. There were also quite a lot of Indian guests at the hotel while I was there.
