Arawana Hoft Hostel

All the signs warning about fines for bringing durian, using the wrong washing machine, smoking, and other rules made the place feel a bit unwelcoming. The shared fridge could use more regular upkeep too. Although things looked tidy at first, I noticed cleanliness problems when I looked more closely. Also, the walls are thin, so sounds from nearby rooms and common areas carry, including showers and conversations.

The staff gave me quick, useful directions when I asked for information. The Burmese receptionist and the tall Thai woman were both helpful, and they even gave me a guidebook for exploring Bangkok. It was nice to see them work so well as a team. The place itself was clean, comfortable, and quiet.

HOFT Hostel felt warm and welcoming, and I really felt at home there. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with good amenities that made the stay easy. Staff were friendly, supportive, and always ready to help. Highly recommended!

WORST HOSTEL! I stayed one night with a friend. When we arrived, they made us post a review on the app, so I wouldn't trust the five-star reviews here. I was out all day, and when I got back at 2:00 am, my things were on the floor and someone else's belongings were on the bed. A guy said it was his bed, and I told him it was mine too. We called reception, but they said nothing could be done until the next day. Since the other guy didn't know what to do, I had to share my friend's bed. The next day, the receptionist said it was a mistake and there was nothing he could do. He said he'd try talking to Booking.com about refunding the bed, but couldn't promise anything.
