This was an ideal place to begin an adventure, especially with Khaosan road nightlife close by and a tailor next door where I bought a few suits. I stayed three times between 2008 and 2011 and still remember those visits fondly. I never booked ahead on either of the occasions mentioned, but they accommodated me very nicely each time. The staff were so nice, and the location was excellent for a night out.

We booked three nights through Airbnb, but the person at reception had no idea what we meant when we arrived. After calling the owner, he gave us a key about 45 minutes later. The room had no water and the sheets were awful. When I asked about the water, the front desk said it would be fixed by noon the next day, and there were no fresh sheets. We managed through the night. The next day there was still no water. A different receptionist was a little more helpful and moved us to another of their hotels. That place was decent, but even after we asked several times, there was no maid service. A very disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

At first the hotel makes a good impression, but it soon becomes clear it’s old and not maintained very well. The elevator barely works, rooms are basic, and the beds aren’t comfortable. Breakfast isn’t included, and they charge you for anything you do wrong, so you feel like you’re walking on eggshells. Otherwise it’s okay, but nothing more.

We picked this place for the location, but after one awful night we wanted to leave. It’s easily the worst hotel I’ve stayed in on my travels. The room and bathroom were dirty, and the air conditioner smelled bad and roared like a muscle car. Sleeping with it on was impossible, and so was sleeping without it. The mattress was rock hard, and the “GENIUS” nylon pillows were perfect if you wanted to keep some meat warm, like your head. Mosquitoes somehow got in through the closed window, and the door had a hard lock. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, there was no fridge, and you could see where one had been removed. The staff were strange. I think that’s all, stay away.

A solid all-in-one setup. I stayed as a hotel guest, ate at the downstairs cafe, got a massage at the parlor, and used the luggage storage. The massage was a 10/10 and left me feeling completely at ease. Storage was affordable and secure: I paid upfront to leave my things for a week, and everything was still there, undamaged, when I returned. Keep the receipt handy so pickup goes smoothly. My room was clean, with dependable hot water and basic amenities. It was fairly quiet when the neighbors were, though loud chatting or music came through the walls. The cafe food was tasty and affordable. I ordered juice too, but that was the only thing that didn’t taste good, some sort of mix. I’d skip it, lol.
