Hotel Nanon Sathorn

Construction started right outside my room at 7 in the morning. The room was large and nice, with a balcony, but I never opened the door because the air outside was so dirty. The hotel sits beside a busy traffic road under an elevated highway. Dust and pollution were so heavy I wore a mask indoors. On my first night, walking back was horrible, with fast cars and motorcycles passing by. There’s no sidewalk under the highway unless you walk on train tracks, and the walking route shown on the map the hotel provided didn’t exist. It led me farther alongside a very busy, fast road. The road next to the hotel was extremely dirty. I booked because the photos looked cozy and the rating was high. Coming from a western country, I wouldn’t have expected a hotel could open in this kind of area, and I didn’t find out until it was too late to cancel. Maybe this is common in Thailand. The hotel was listed on an English-language platform, but the staff didn’t speak English. The owner's dad speaks English, but doesn’t work onsite. He gave me his phone number for emergencies, but when I ordered a car to the airport, the Bolt app couldn’t find the location. I could only contact the driver through app calls, and the dad’s phone was no help. It could have gone really badly. I uploaded photos of the dusty, dirty bathroom window frames and the air I had to breathe for two nights, bugs I found on the bed, and the horrible road beside the hotel.
