Awa Don Muang

The one real plus was being near Donmuang International Airport and a 7-11. The building looked old inside and unlike the Google photos, and the outside was messy. My room smelled, the shower was broken, and both the toilet floor and sink were wet when I arrived. The area felt dirty too, with lots of stray dogs at night, which could be risky if you're scared of dogs. My blanket was dirty and left my legs itchy.

For a seven-hour layover at Don Mueang, this was the only affordable choice I could find. Check-in was very easy, and it's close to the airport, though you'll need a taxi. Mine was about 200 baht, whether at peak time or off peak. The bathroom and toilet weren't clean, and there was no soap for washing hands. You get what you pay for.

I only stayed one night so I could leave for the airport early. The room didn't match the listing: the TV and fridge that were meant to be there had been removed. The shower gel they provided was half used, and someone else's hair was in it.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and smelled really nice. It felt like a gem. It was raining, so I didn't get a chance to explore the area, but I'd definitely come back soon.
