I'm staying in this house now, and the random knocking has been unnerving. It's an old colonial place with a rocking chair in one room, and it feels creepy. Once, while I was alone asleep in my room, I heard a lot of knocks at the balcony door. I also keep hearing them from another room, which is a creepy meeting room with window doors covered by small blankets. It's a Michelin-star Airbnb, but I'd recommend it to people brave enough not to worry about ghosts. Even my dad, who's 43, is scared. The kitchen is outside the house in an alleyway, so going there at night feels creepy too. The piano is broken. I also keep hearing the train honking loudly. Thank goodness I had earplugs, though they couldn't stop the knocking. Cats climb over the roofs as well.

The food was really tasty, and lunch had a relaxing setting. We tried the flower blossom salad, and there were easy vegetarian options. I had a lovely stay in December, and although the busy season made me miss the chance to review on Airbnb, I wanted to leave a review here. I'd absolutely stay again. Jam and Tao were friendly, helpful, and receptive from the start of booking on Airbnb, and shared useful tips for the area. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated. The compound was a delight, with birds chirping and gentle jazz coming from downstairs. Other reviews mention a welcoming, homey feel, and that matched our experience. The neighborhood is sleepy, with coffee shops either a short drive or a long walk away, which suited what I wanted. The building faces a train line, and there are occasional tannoy announcements when trains pass. Earplugs made it okay for me at night, and my heavy-sleeper partner slept through it, so it wasn't an issue for us. I can see it bothering light sleepers.

We spent a weekend getaway in Bangkok with friends and really enjoyed staying here. The house is relaxing and works well for a small group to gather. Our room had a lovely design, lots of space, and a very comfortable bed. The location was good too, with a 7-11 and plenty of nice bakeries, coffee shops, and restaurants within an easy walk.

The Thai-colonial-inspired decor gives the place a nice atmosphere, and the presentation is beautiful even though the food tastes just okay. Portions are small and it's pricey. I'd recommend it for afternoon tea. If you're ordering food, try dishes that are harder to find elsewhere, like watermelon with fried fish, namprik (chili paste), or Thai dessert.
