Bandara Silom Suites

The price was hard to beat, and the location was great, close to one of the night markets. Staff were warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. The hotel felt a little dated, but it was due to close soon for upgrades. Even as it was, there was nothing wrong with the rooms. They’d just be nicer with a more modern look.

We were there during the earthquake, and the staff were so caring and friendly as they helped my mom and me down the stairs. I really loved the place. The location is amazing, with food, shopping, and salons just outside, and we walked around a lot but still couldn’t see it all. There’s security on the lot to keep traffic moving, plus the hotel has its own tuk-tuk, which I think goes to a nearby BTS. We never needed it. The lobby looks modern and lovely, though the rooms are a bit old. We booked a spacious two-bedroom suite. The living area was huge, with a couch, dining table, and big windows. The master bedroom even had its own doorbell!

I’d have liked a few more shops or convenience stores right around the hotel. The location was still handy and not far from the city center. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast could use more choices, though; I found the selection limited. I had a very pleasant stay.

We keep coming back to this hotel whenever we visit Thailand because the convenient location makes it feel like home. Most of the staff are really friendly, especially the tuk-tuk guys. The dated feel was the main downside, though the hotel is now in a major renovation and will close for about a year and a half. We’d definitely stay again on our next trip. I hope the renovated bathrooms have a side door or some kind of curtain, since the open glass around the bathtub lets water spread everywhere when we shower. Hopefully the air conditioning improves too, because during our stay there was a very humid smell.
