New Siam Guest House

My second-floor room had bedbugs, and the bed smelled awful, with loads of brown marks that looked like insect droppings. When I told the staff, they moved me to another room, but I found the same thing there. The whole building seemed infested. They couldn’t find me a replacement at either New Siam or New Siam II, so at 3:00 AM I had to look for somewhere else myself. Most hotels don’t let you check in until 14:00. What looked online like a relaxing, promising stay turned into a disaster. Be very careful with places listed as hotels that are actually guesthouses or hostels. Fellow solo female travelers, put your safety and where you rest first. Don’t let what looks like a “great deal” lead you into a bad situation.

A nice place to stay in an interesting area, with clean rooms, helpful staff, and a convenient location. The one small annoyance is how noisy the air conditioner is :)))

I came to pick up my tourists, so I can’t comment on the rooms. The lobby had a cozy atmosphere, and the staff gave a warm welcome. It’s tucked away in Rambuttri near Khaosan road, in a calm area beside a local temple. There’s a clean bathroom available, and restaurants and massage places are easy to reach around the corner. Several historical sights are also not far away.

Khao San’s nightlife is in full swing just five minutes away, but the hotel itself is peaceful and quiet right in the heart of the tourist area. The reception is staffed around the clock, and the people there are very friendly and helpful. They arranged a taxi to the airport for me. The compact room had everything I needed, even a kettle, and the air conditioner was great. The mattresses were a little hard, there weren’t many power sockets, and the decor felt a bit dated. Those things didn’t spoil the stay overall.
