Bang Luang House

The family running this place made our stay. They’re so warm and welcoming, and cooked breakfast for us every morning. We loved the huge, plant-filled terrace and the room, which was spotless and beautifully furnished with vintage pieces. It’s an amazing canal house, right across from the famous Artist House Bkk cafe. The location would get a 10 if I could give it one. Maybe the best place we’ve stayed during all our time in Thailand. Come here if you want to experience the real Bangkok.

We spent a lot of time just sitting by the water, watching the longtail boats from our private terrace. You can also buy a little bucket of fish food and feed the catfish. The place has a peaceful feel that made it easy to unwind and enjoy Bangkok’s everyday city life. The guesthouse is right by the river and beautifully decorated. The owners have clearly put thought into making it comfortable, and they were incredibly friendly. I first came across it while on a guided bike tour through the local area outside central Bangkok. Artist’s House is next door, a trendy café where you can make bracelets or paint. There are also a few 7-Elevens nearby and some local temples worth visiting. I really enjoyed staying here and would absolutely recommend it. It’s an experience I won’t forget.

We loved our stay and hope to come back someday. The hosts were so kind, and even packed us a fantastic lunch for our flight home. The rooms were clean and pretty, and the patio above the canal is lovely. It’s a quieter part of Bangkok, with little streets where you can walk around and get a more local, small-neighborhood feel. The house is between two train stations, both a 10-15 minute walk away. From there, getting around the city is easy and cheap. There are lots of small, great restaurants nearby, though they close fairly early. You can still walk to other places that stay open later.

Breakfast across the canal at the hosts’ family home was the highlight for us. Every meal was some of the best food we’ve had on our trip, and the hospitality was amazing. The hosts were so welcoming and made us feel at home. We also loved relaxing on the private patio, watching the longboats and fish. The neighborhood feels like a nice break from busy Bangkok, and the property is even prettier in person than in the pictures. Our stay at Bang Luang House exceeded every expectation. We’d definitely recommend it, and only wish we’d booked more time.
