Alice was consistently attentive and accommodating, and we'll definitely return. My wife and I spent three nights at BPR on our third visit to Bangkok. We wanted somewhere away from the busy Sukhumvit area, and this serene part of town was easy to reach. It was one of our best decisions. BPR won't suit everyone. It's an intimate residence rather than a conventional five-star hotel, and guests should respect its setting and follow the house rules. For travellers who value history and want to experience old Bangkok, it can be an ideal retreat. I encourage people who enjoy that kind of stay to consider it.

The staff's care feels warm and genuinely human, and their service is hard to match. The building's history comes through in the thoughtful design choices. You can almost feel the old printing days in those beloved hallways, with their sage ghosts keeping watch over guests who appreciate the place's fine taste. This committed team clearly wants every guest to have a memorable stay.

The big issue for us was street noise. The hotel is right beside the main road, and every room faces it. It was too loud to ignore, especially for light sleepers, and the second floor seemed worse. I don't know whether soundproofing can still be improved after renovation, but I hope management considers it. I'd ask for a third-floor room to reduce the noise. That said, the renovated boutique hotel is beautiful and charming, with history as a former publishing house. Several attractions are within walking distance, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it met or exceeded all our other expectations. If street noise doesn't bother you and you want a place with character, this is the one.

We were nearby and hoped to book five rooms after seeing this interesting property online, so we stopped by to see it. They told us they were full, and we politely asked whether we could at least look at the shared spaces. The man who opened the door just said, “no, no” and shut it on us. If he didn't speak English or understand us, he should have found someone to help instead of closing the door as if we were beggars. We came to bring the hotel business. Appalling behaviour. The staff need training.
