Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit

The room itself was comfortable, but the club lounge service was the worst part of our stay. We asked for vegetarian choices to be prepared for the evening cocktail hours, and the staff seemed unwilling to do anything. There was hardly anything vegetarian available. When we asked them to call the chef so we could find out what vegetarian food he’d be comfortable making and serving, we were told they had to serve more than 100 guests. The vegetarian food they did serve felt like a forced attempt, and we were treated very disrespectfully. Senior staff need much more thorough training in the brand they represent and in the level of guest they’re serving. They should also be made aware of the business we bring to the Accor group through our bookings. We could have answered rudely, but we were travelling for three nights and chose to avoid that. We didn’t use the lounge on the third day. On our 15-day trip around Thailand, nine nights were with Accor hotels, and this was the worst staff experience we had. For the same reason, we may avoid booking Sofitel next time we’re in Bangkok, since there are plenty of choices with Accor and other luxury brands above Sofitel.

Breakfast and lunch were splendid, with a good selection of dishes. The hotel was clean, and both room service and housekeeping were very good. It was easy to reach and sits in a busy tourist area, while the hotel staff were cheerful and helpful. I did feel there were some limits on the complimentary refreshments and snacks.

The lounge served substantial food at breakfast and dinner, though we would have preferred more flexible opening and service times. The only possible drawback was the area, which felt a little sketchy, despite being close to Asoke, shopping areas, and a BTS station for quick travel. That didn’t take away from our enjoyment of this modern hotel and its service. We were very happy with our choice over the Banyan Tree. We had an incredible stay at Sofitel Bangkok. The rooms were bright, modern, and welcoming, with thoughtful design and light materials. As always, Sofitel beds were unbeatable for comfort, and we liked the enclosed bathrooms and attention to detail. Service was spectacular. Room requests arrived within minutes, delivered by very friendly staff. The team at Le Millessime was impressive too and very service oriented.

Gift was a pleasure to deal with. She explained everything clearly and helped us with several other requests. We really enjoyed having her look after us. The location sits between two stations, Nana to the right and Asoke to the left, which connects directly to the sky bridge toward Terminal 21. The rooms were great as usual, though the standard pillows were really soft. We liked the lounge. Tea was okay, nothing fancy, while the evening cocktail session had much better choices. We also had a great dinner at the restaurant.
