Bangna 21 Residence

I had a good stay in room 215. Everything worked, and the lady at the desk was very friendly and spoke enough English. There’s a market and a 7/11 nearby for food and other things. I needed somewhere to sleep before an early flight from BBK, and since I was leaving at 5AM, they didn’t even ask me for a key deposit. I don’t understand the recent low rating, as I had no problems. My room and the service were great. It cost about 600 baht for the night.

The reception staff made me feel a bit neglected. I got the impression they might have been avoiding me, though I don’t know why. I’m an Indian solo traveller. The location also felt a little dangerous and intimidating to me. My first room had an air conditioner leaking water onto the floor. The staff were nice enough to move me to a better room, but that one had trouble with the door closing. The room cleaning was good, and I was tipping the Thai cleaners 50 THB. The first night was noisy in the doorway, with some loud door slams around 2 AM. Everything else was good.

I was thinking of booking a room, but wanted to call first and get the basic details. The staff wouldn’t tell me the room types or prices, just said I should come and see for myself. I live far away, so that didn’t work for me. After reading reviews where many people warned about this, I changed my mind.

I’ve been all over Bangkok, and this is by far the best place I’ve found. The owner is great, and the place feels the most up-to-date and upscale in the city. Lots of farang come here to get away from Bangkok’s bustle. Sincerely hope you find some peace at Bangna21.
