It's near Punnawithi BTS stop, about 20 minutes from Siam and an hour from the chaos of Khaosan Road. For somewhere quiet in Bangkok, it's hard to believe. I've been visiting Bangkok for a long time and spent three weeks here. It felt like home, and I'll definitely return. The owner has turned a large four-story house into a hostel. It's clean, tidy, quiet, and free of cockroaches and outside noise. It sits parallel to Sukhumvit, away from the noise and chaos. Every floor has a large balcony with comfortable lounge furniture, and there's also a summer kitchen for tea and coffee. The rooms come in different sizes, and all are neat and well kept. The owner is a kind elderly woman who speaks perfect English and is happy to help. A nice woman from Burma runs things day to day, cleaning, preparing, and cooking.

It's cheap and in a great location, but there's no proper kitchen, just a mini-fridge, so you can't really keep food there. The staff are nice, but seem lazy. The hostel and management could be a lot better with a little more effort. The property itself isn't great, though the bunk rooms are clean. The patios are nice but not very clean. I didn't see any cockroaches, but I did see two mice. The bathrooms were passable, not nice or well looked after. During my whole week there, they never emptied the bathroom trash. I felt safe, with staff around 24 hours a day and locks on all the doors, but there are no lockers or safes for valuables. I'd only stay if money is very tight or the location is perfect for you, and then only for a few nights. Otherwise, I'd look for somewhere with a nicer property and better amenities.

The shared bathrooms were out in the hallway, and the hygiene was poor. The sinks weren't clean enough. The beds were uncomfortable, so it was hard to sleep. For the price, the hotel didn't meet our expectations, and we don't plan to return.
