Grand Watergate Hotel

I'm staying here today and can't believe there isn't a single iron in the hotel. Even one on each floor in the corridor would help. It's a basic thing to provide, and even cheap hostels have an ironing room. How are business people supposed to go to meetings in wrinkled clothes? Are guests meant to bring their own? I have three in my little house. It's a cheap item, so this is really disappointing.

The room and location were nice, and everything else was okay. But the mattress was very hard, and the pillows felt like they were stuffed with cotton balls.

We had a spacious room in a handy spot, with a laundry place, 7-Eleven, halal restaurants and the night market all walkable. The outside and ground floor looked good, though the room itself was just okay for me. I slept poorly because the bed was too firm after a long travel day. There was no water heater in the room either, so for hot water at night you had to go down to reception. For the price and location, I think I’d try another hotel next time I’m in Bangkok.

A useful thing about staying here is the laundry place right across the front, especially if you're planning to buy a lot of clothes. The hotel is also convenient and well located. Still, the mattress felt old and was painfully hard, and the damaged balcony door wouldn't close. Service from staff seemed inattentive and not especially friendly. With the beds and facilities below standard, I wouldn't pick it for a family holiday.
