Grande Centre Point Sukhumvit 55

The complimentary coffee at reception, the friendly gym staff and the free minibar refills were nice touches. We also got a surprise room upgrade for our last night, which was a lovely end to the trip. The facilities were excellent, and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Staff were attentive and professional throughout. We had an incredible stay.

We loved beginning our mornings at “The fit club.” Huge thanks to New Jiw and Tong for making the workout and Mai Thai training by the pool memorable. They’re skilled, dedicated and polite, and always had a big smile. Our room was clean, beautifully decorated and had an amazing view. We enjoyed the stay so much, can’t wait to return, and would absolutely recommend this hotel.

The biggest letdown was service by the pool and in the 5th-floor seating area. Finding someone to take an order was hard, and after we managed it, our food and drinks took more than 30 minutes. The hotel is lovely and spotless, with great facilities, but my stay at Grande Centre Point Sukhumvit 55 didn’t quite match the advertised 5-star standard in service and amenities for Thailand. The spa is gorgeous, and the onsen was a unique experience. Just be aware that swimwear isn’t allowed because of traditional customs. My first 90-minute aroma oil massage was incredible, one of my best, but the second one I booked was only half as good and cost more, which disappointed me. I was also surprised to learn the hotel is completely alcohol-free. That wasn’t mentioned when booking or checking in, and there’s no hotel bar. For a 5-star property, I’d have expected clearer communication. Fortunately, there’s a lovely Japanese bar across the road with great staff and tasty snacks. The place looks the part, but for the price I expected better service and amenities.

The location suited us for higher-end clubs, rooftop bars and restaurants nearby, though there aren’t as many small, cheaper bars and pubs around. In traffic, getting to Soi 11, Nana or elsewhere can take a while. Bangkok traffic can be insane, so leave extra time. The hotel itself has great views, nice rooms, an infinity pool, kids’ play area and a pretty solid gym. In January, a larger room was about $250.00 a night. Breakfast was pretty good with lots of options, and the Concierge was knowledgeable. There was always someone available to help. The hotel doesn’t sell alcohol, but a 24-hour grocery store selling it is a five-minute walk away. There are plenty of room options, and I really liked the hotel.
