The rooftop pool and bar were the best part for me and the people travelling with me. We could cool off in the daytime or take an evening swim with a city view, and the staff even let me use the pool after checkout while I waited for my evening bus out of Bangkok. Breakfast at 299 baht was handy before heading to the airport, though it wasn’t the best I’ve had. I stayed twice on my latest Thailand trip, first alone after landing in Bangkok, then with my partner and a friend before leaving. It worked well as a place to arrive and depart from. Khaosan road is an easy walk, and the hotel is near the river and a city transit dock, making it easy to reach other parts of town. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the AC worked well. It may not quite be a four-star hotel, but I didn’t think the price was too high, and we got an upgraded room on our second stay. As a solo traveller, I liked having both a swing-bar door guard and a deadbolt. I’d come back if I return to Bangkok.

Phra Arthit Pier was only a three-minute walk away, and we could reach the Grand Palace on foot in about 15 minutes, so getting around Bangkok was easy. The hotel’s location suited us perfectly. We really enjoyed our stay and would choose this hotel again when we return. Staff welcomed us warmly, and we were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in early. Our room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The rooftop pool and bar were a lovely place to relax, and the food we ordered there tasted great. Breakfast had plenty of delicious options, especially the different sweet pastries, and we were very happy with it.

The first room had a faint damp smell, but reception offered us another right away when we mentioned it. The replacement was comfortable and had no issue. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, especially the gentleman who brought our luggage to the room and made us feel welcome. The river nearby makes it easy to reach different parts of Bangkok, and the hotel is well placed for exploring the city. We also really liked the rooftop pool for cooling off after busy streets. Chillax Heritage Hotel is a good choice overall.

The location is great, close to restaurants and many of Bangkok’s historic sights, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. It felt more like a three-star hotel, but I had a nice stay at Chillax Heritage. The glass divider between the shower and bed was a funny touch, let’s just say it made it easy to keep an eye on my partner 😉. Breakfast was okay, though I missed having cheese for sandwiches.

We stayed five nights at this hotel near the historic city center. The rooftop pool was great for a swim after sunset, and it was never crowded. Rooms were modern and clean, staff helpful and friendly, and the breakfast buffet had quite a few choices. One small annoyance, the breakfast room kept playing Christmas songs over and over in early December.
