Convenient Park Bangkok Hotel

The convenient location was one positive, with easy access to the city and several good places nearby. But I wouldn’t recommend staying here for a honeymoon or a comfortable trip with family or a spouse. Our room wasn’t tidy. The blanket and cover were torn and in poor condition, and there were small flies or insects, possibly because of poor cleanliness. A strange smoke smell was near the door whenever we came or went. The AC didn’t cool the room properly, even set to 16°C. There were no bathroom towels, so we had to call reception. Basic items like a toothbrush, toothpaste, and room or bathroom slippers weren’t provided. The complimentary breakfast was the worst part. The food didn’t seem freshly cooked, and it wasn’t tasty or hot. Also, the kitchen was closed around 8:45 pm, despite a notice saying it stayed open until 10 pm.

I’d only stay here if I were on a budget. The new building looks nice but somehow creepy, while the old one is okay. The location is the best part, especially if you use BTS, though the nearest station is still a bit far from the main attractions. The rooms were awful for us: there were so many ants and insects that they got into our bags. We asked housekeeping to clean, but still had a lot of trouble. Wi-Fi had good speed when it worked, but disconnected every 10 minutes and could take half an hour to come back. We had to sign in again each time, which was tedious. For an online booking, upgrading at check-in meant an unnecessary extra charge of around 200 baht per night plus the difference in room rate. The cafe shut at 9 pm, way too early, and we couldn’t even get coffee. They also asked for a 100 baht deposit to give us a plate for outside food, which I thought was rubbish. The nearest 7 eleven was an absolute waste, so we had to walk to one farther away. This happened to almost every guest.

The king size room was spacious, and the metro connection was good, though the property is a bit old. We arrived around 1 pm and were still asked to wait, even though rooms were empty. Other people were waiting too. We had to leave our bags and hang around to pass the time. The bathroom needed maintenance, the shower didn’t work well, and the TV was very old.

Convenient Park Bangkok Hotel is affordable and decent if all you need is a room and you’re not concerned about meals or getting around. As a first-time traveler, I wish I’d known a few things before booking. There are no nearby Indian restaurants, and the hotel doesn’t serve food suited to Indian tastes. They may list things like fried rice, but that wasn’t suitable for us. Food became a real problem. The hotel is also far from most tourist spots. There’s a metro station within 100 meters, but Bangkok’s metro felt expensive and hard for a new traveler to understand, so the daily travel costs added up. If you’re an Indian traveler focused on sightseeing and Indian food, I wouldn’t recommend it. I’d choose somewhere closer to the tourist areas.
