I keep coming back to Co-op Hostel whenever I'm in Bangkok, and it's conveniently close to Ratchaprarop train station. I've stayed here for more than a month across my three Thailand trips, and for the price it's the best hostel in the area. The staff have always been polite, kind, and willing to help with whatever I needed. The beds are clean and fresh, with curtains around them, and they now provide towels for free. The newer showers feel more comfortable to use, too. There's a night market just a couple of feet away, with lots of clothes, street food, restaurants, and 7/11's nearby. The rooftop eating area is handy, but those stairs are steep, so watch your step. They removed the washing machine and roof clothes hanger, which is a bummer. There is a TV with plenty of DVDs, plus a small bookshelf with a couple of reads on the first floor. If anything goes wrong, they'll do everything they can to help. I can't think of anything bad about Co-op hostel.

The staff are all friendly and the hostel is in a good spot, near shopping and the Airport Rail Link. What made the stay unpleasant was other guests making noise and not respecting everyone else's sleep, even at night. Earplugs could help. Also, bring your own locker key, and towels cost THB30 rather than being complimentary.

The room was quiet, with nice AC and good wifi, and I liked the place. I left some of my things behind, and the staff member I asked was really helpful. My one complaint is that everything seems to cost extra. Printing a single page was 10 baht, even more than at printer shops.

This was the worst experience of our Chiang Mai to Bangkok tour. The bathrooms and restrooms weren't clean, the cement floors were slippery, and there was a constant musty smell. Their policy about turning off the air conditioning for cleaning from 11am to 3pm was the worst part. We asked them not to clean our room and to leave the AC on, but they wouldn't, even with outdoor temperatures at 35-37°C. We booked because the place is in a popular area, but we'd rather stay farther away for better service.

Jen, the receptionist, was beautiful and very helpful. I don't know her Thai name, but I really appreciated how she helped us find a floating market around Bangkok.
