Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Sukhumvit 20

The only letdown was breakfast, which was good but seemed a little expensive for what we got. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, and the location made getting around Bangkok easy. We had a great stay.

The air conditioning was the biggest problem for me. The room felt stuffy, too dry or too cold, and I didn't get a single good night's sleep. The restaurant food was very average too. The Thai dishes weren't good quality, and after an excellent wagyu burger the first time, the second was like rubber, so I stopped eating there. The slippers seemed made only for five-foot-tall women. On the plus side, it's a new hotel in a quiet, handy spot, and every staff member was super polite. ICE, the cleaning lady on the 6th floor, was especially efficient and polite. The gym was okay, though it lacks a multi-trainer machine despite having a large empty space for one. There is a sauna, which was a big plus for me. Would I stay again? No.

The breakfast buffet covered both Thai and Western choices, and the small pool was a pleasant spot to step away from the busy city. I found the staff attentive and friendly, always willing to help with transport or recommendations. The hotel is on a quieter side street on Sukhumvit 20, but Asok and Phrom Phong are still a short walk or tuk-tuk ride away, so it worked well for sightseeing and business. My room was modern, clean, and well maintained, with a comfortable bed and dependable air conditioning in Bangkok's heat. Good comfort and value for a dependable city stay.

For what this place costs, I don't think it offers good value. There are other hotels nearby at the same price or less that are cleaner, better kept, and friendlier, and I wouldn't book here again. The staff didn't seem very welcoming or helpful, which made things less comfortable. My room was below standard, not very clean, and short on basic attention to detail. I came in with higher expectations and left disappointed.
