Brassiere Beach Resort

It’s a beautiful spot. We tried to stop by for lunch, like we did a couple of years ago, but couldn’t find any staff anywhere on the property, even though the rooms were open. It looked as if they might only be serving hotel guests now, and no longer taking outside visitors for lunch.

If you want to stay active rather than zone out or sit on the beach, there isn’t much to do here. But for a peaceful, serene escape, this place is hard to beat. It’s a beautiful, largely untouched beach destination in Thailand, a real hidden gem. The resort is old but in decent shape, and the staff are a small team who are friendly and attentive. The dogs living on the property kept us company and looked out for our group, which added to the stay. We did have two issues: the bathroom in the Bikini’s needed better maintenance, and we had to switch rooms in the middle of the night. The overnight staff moved us right away, which was a very good response. Mosquitoes were strangely active at dawn and dusk, but we didn’t notice any at night. The resort keeps repellent in the rooms and will bring more if you ask, so that was forgivable. Even with those problems, they handled things well and we felt cared for.

The location is wow, and the service is local, simple and friendly. The hotel is pretty but a bit old, especially the g string room, though it has its own charm. Be sure to get at least 30% off the price listed on their website. Breakfast was lovely and à la carte, and the pool was nice, with a jacuzzi and very little chlorine. It was clean, quiet and romantic. By the way, my hot shower worked well.

It’s really peaceful, tucked away from the main beach, and the drive there is well worth it. The staff were attentive and even arranged a room for us when we arrived as walk-ins late in the evening. One thing to know: you can’t drive on the beach without a four-wheel-drive vehicle, so you have to take the other road farther south.
