Cubic Bangkok Hostel

This hostel couldn't be better. Free coffee, cookies, and breakfast with cereal, fruit, toast, and eggs. It's the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in, and the staff are really friendly. The beds are stylish, with curtains for privacy, plus a plug and shelf right beside each one. I'm absolutely in love with it.

The rooms were comfortable and spotless, though the beds felt hard, which seemed normal for Thailand. The location was great. The owner made us feel so welcome and spoke fluent English. They even got the kids involved in making donuts, and sent a staff member shopping with me so I could find the right shop.

I keep coming back whenever I'm in Bangkok. They remembered me on my second visit a year later, and the people running the place seem genuinely happy. It's clean and organized, with good snacks and a simple breakfast. 7-11 is right next door, and they'll help hail a taxi if you ask in person. I like getting a private room. Hallway cameras mean I'd notice if someone went in, and nobody enters unless I put out the cleaning sign. This is one of the few places in Thailand where I feel completely comfortable leaving my laptop. Most Thai places are honest, but I need total trust and verification. Feeling 99% safe isn't enough for me. A few things to know: there are stairs and no elevator, and the bathrooms are shared, though very clean. There's a refundable 600 baht deposit. To keep things clean, they ask you not to bring food into your room and to take off your shoes. They provide slippers. It's quiet, too, with no parties and a request to keep noise down after 9pm. I love this place. If simple and clean is what you're after and it suits you, book it.

The breakfast had fresh fruit, granola, bread, and rotating surprises like fried rice. The lobby turns into a coffee shop during the day, and it's a nice place to hang out and watch people. Upstairs, the rooftop terrace gives you a break from the city while you wait for laundry. Wi-fi was serviceable, with routers on every floor. I felt like family by the time I left Cubic Bangkok Hostel. The staff went out of their way to help, from arranging taxis and booking my cooking class to sharing tips for seeing Bangkok on a budget. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the whole hostel is kept incredibly clean. One of the best hostels I've stayed in.
