Emporium Suites By Chatrium Hotel

The seventh-floor pool was a lovely place to unwind after a busy day, with a nice view. The hotel is centrally located, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The underground parking for guests is excellent and convenient. The kitchen setup was strange, though: it was oversized and had a stove, but no pans and only two pieces of cutlery. It felt impractical to have so much kitchen space without basic utensils. Housekeeping was another oddity. You have to press a button to ask for your room to be cleaned, which we’d never encountered at a five-star hotel and found unusual. It was a good stay, but there’s room to improve, especially for a hotel with that star rating.

The reception staff were professional and very kind, and the hotel has direct access to Phrom Phong BTS through the Emporium mall. My main complaint is the poor vegetarian food selection. There are very few options, and the vegetarian dishes I found tasted bad. At breakfast, all I could find was some big chunks of partly cooked baked or fried potatoes, bread, juice, and fruit.

Update, 14:55 on 09/29: There was no room upgrade at any point. I stayed in the same room category I had paid for. Over two nights, September 27 and 28, I was moved through three rooms: 4018, 38?? (I forgot the exact number), and 3917. Rooms 4018 and 3917 had balconies, but they were not upgrades. Saying I was upgraded is simply untrue. Room 3917 was another problem. Late at night, I noticed the shower fixture wasn’t secured properly, so I couldn’t hang the shower head up to use it. The next morning, the carpet was soaked. When I stepped on it, water came out, like walking on a beach. I have photos and videos. This has become so ridiculous I can’t even get angry anymore. I rarely leave negative reviews, but other guests should know what happened at Emporium Suites by Chatrium. A little after 9 p.m., I got back to my room and found a large puddle covering the bathroom floor. I called the front desk before 9:30. The staff member struggled to understand my English and asked me to repeat myself several times. Housekeeping came and said it was a roof leak, but only wiped the floor and didn’t fix anything. As a result, I missed my only chance to visit the nearby malls before they closed at 10 p.m., which was the main reason I chose this hotel. The duty manager’s response was the worst part. He said I could just leave the room because housekeeping had already been called. It showed no regard for my belongings, my time, or how serious the issue was. They eventually moved me to another room, but it had no balcony, unlike the room I’d booked and paid for. I’d already unpacked and settled in, so having to pack up and move was a huge hassle. For a hotel calling itself five-star, the facilities and especially the staff’s attitude and professionalism were far below what I expected. I’ve filed formal complaints with management and relevant authorities. I hope they take this seriously and improve, but based on my experience, I can’t recommend this property. Worst experience ever.

We spent 21 days here, and the location and service were definitely high-end. It’s a great hotel if you want the sort of upscale place and world-class service you’d expect from a top hotel. But if you came to Thailand for the local specialty, this location is lacking.
