Lilit Bang Lumphu Hotel

The breakfast could use work. Most items didn’t seem to be made with quality ingredients, and there was no juice, just banana and apple. The omelette made by the friendly girl was really nice, though. I barely used the pool during my seven days there, even though that’s why I booked. The water was too cold, and there were hardly any other guests around the pool. The hotel itself is nice, basic and modern. Staff serving breakfast and the cleaners were generally friendlier and more polite than reception. They left water in our room and changed the towels every day. Thanks 🙏

The week here was very comfortable, and my room had plenty of space. I liked the food at Lilit Cafe, and theres toke laundry is right next door. The location made it easy to walk to khaosan road, which was perfect for celebrating songkran. I also found it easy to meet people by hanging out in the lobby or by the swimming pool. The cafe lobby is handy for working, and the wifi is strong throughout the hotel.

⚠️ Black Mold ⚠️ I barely spent any time in the room on my first night, even though I had booked four nights. In the morning, I went straight to reception and reported black mold in the air-conditioning, which is a serious health hazard. They showed me other rooms, but every one had the same problem. I asked for a refund and they refused. I disputed the charge through Booking, but the hotel told them I had moved into a room they offered, which isn’t true. I’ve lost all the money for the booking and will try a chargeback through my credit card. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. This was the worst customer service I’ve seen in over seven years of travelling. Shame!

The pool is more of a nice extra than a highlight, so this isn’t the best hotel if you’re mainly looking to spend time swimming. The rooms are comfortable, the location is great, and the hotel itself is very nice. A couple of practical things were frustrating. Luggage is stored in a messy pile in the corridor, with no real security. Also, if two people return separately and one doesn’t have a key card, they can’t get to the floor through the locked ground-floor door. Someone has to come down and let them in, or they have to get someone from reception.
