Executive Club at Windsor

The staff were nice, and breakfast was good, but the executive suite was a letdown for the price. There were cockroaches in the room, the shower didn't work, and the Wi-Fi was awful. Room service arrived with only half the ingredients listed on the menu. The air conditioner was really noisy, and the furniture felt old and cheap. Not what I expected at this price.

We were on the 28th floor, which meant free club access with drinks and tapas from 5:30 to 7:30 each evening. The hotel also has a pool, sauna, and steam bath. I liked the sauna, though the steam bath wasn't as strong as it should be. Staff were very friendly, and check-in and check-out were quick and smooth. It's a charming place, within a 10-minute walk of the BTS and close to plenty of restaurants. Prices are very low in low season.

The view from our room was decent, and the location and spa were good. We got a deal that cut the price a lot, because the regular rate is completely unacceptable for rooms this poor. The staff and service were about as good as could be expected, but the rooms let the hotel down badly. Our room had holes in the walls, mold in the bathroom, and a bad smell, especially after cleaning. It seemed like dirty water had been used. There were no power points by the bed and no main room light, just lamps beside the bed and elsewhere. The bedroom air conditioning couldn't be switched off. Shower gel came in bottles that were hard to squeeze, and the fruit plate on arrival was just a banana, an apple, and an orange under cling film, with no finesse. The outdoor-style windows looked into the corridor, which felt strange and offered little privacy. We also saw cockroaches in the breakfast buffet. The pricing for things wasn't clear: there was a discount scheme my partner and I hadn't been told about, though fortunately it was applied to our spa bill. There was no rooftop bar or any kind of New Year's event. The staff's English was poor for a hotel that wants to be considered 5-star. I took many photos to back up these complaints.

We keep coming back here whenever we're in Bangkok. The rooms are comfortable, breakfast is great, and it's near Asoke station. There's a famous pianist playing at the main bar every evening. A nice place to stay.
