The location is nice and puts you close to everything, and the owner gave great directions. The room was big, the bathroom huge, and everything was clean. I’m 6'4, though, and kept hitting my head on the ceiling on the stairs. They’re so shallow that it’s easy to slip, and a railing might help. We used the kitchen, which had plenty for basic cooking. A divider in the refrigerator would help the rooms keep track of what belongs to whom. There’s no roof deck, despite what the Airbnb listing says, but that was okay.

Phil’s place was great, and I had an amazing stay. The bedroom was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It’s also conveniently located within walking distance of the Metro and many sights. I’d recommend Phil’s tips on his Airbnb profile if you want to discover local life in Bangkok. If I visit again, I’d definitely stay here.

The host was kind and flexible with our timing. We checked in a few hours early, left an hour late, and could store our bags until our evening train. The room was clean, though the towels were stained, and the floor squeaks a lot, so keep that in mind. Temples are nearby, and Khao San Road is about a 15-minute walk away.
