Happyland Mansion

The rooms were just okay, about 6/10, and the staff get 7/10. The hotel area is 6/10, you get what you pay for. But I had a bad experience overall: the rooms are old and the closet is broken. Wi-Fi is 0/10, constantly disconnecting, and in a corner room it's hard to get any signal. Staff didn't help, so trying to work online was a struggle.

I wouldn't recommend this place if you work online, because the internet isn't any good. Check my screenshot. Reception wouldn't give me Wi-Fi credentials when I asked for work, even for just 1hr. They said there was no Wi-Fi here, though I can clearly see the reception Wi-Fi.

I first started staying here during the Covid19 lockdown, after colleagues recommended it as a good match between price and location during a difficult time. Since then, I’ve picked it whenever I need somewhere in Bkk. It’s not far from Suwannabhumi Airport, and getting a taxi from the street is easy, unlike around Ratchada. I wouldn’t expect much given the room rate, and I’m guessing the building dates from the 90s. I’ve seen complaints about rude staff, but the man I keep meeting has always been friendly and helpful. He even helped when my flight was cancelled and I needed to extend my booking. This time, guests in another room kept slamming doors late at night. I’ll leave you to guess their nationality. Still, I’ll keep this place on my list for my next trip to Bkk.

I left today and was charged an extra 300. The lights had already been turned off, and when I went to check out, the staff were loud. It felt as if they saw a foreigner and tried to get more money from me. The sheets and quilts were old, and they didn’t give me fresh towels. Please don’t stay here. They seem to care only about money, speak to guests terribly, and come across like a gang. The woman wearing glasses was sitting at the counter at 2:39pm on Wednesday. Management should teach staff how to treat guests. Worst hotel I’ve stayed at in Bangkok. Pathetic, and the management should be ashamed.
