Hoppers Place Donmuang Room

The room was clean, the AC worked, and it was quieter than I expected given that we faced a busy street. It’s a handy place for a short stop near Don Mueang Airport. A taxi from the airport cost 150 Thai baht, and the Hostel staff gave us a ride back to catch our flight. There’s a large fridge in the room, but the microwave and coffee are in the lobby, even though there’s also a kettle in the room. No elevator. Lots of food places are walkable, though be aware there’s little sidewalk. The bed was a bit hard for my taste, but that’s what I’m used to in Thailand.

The bed was comfortable and the staff were helpful. Great spot, close to a laundry, restaurants, and a gas station.

For DMK airport travelers, this is a very practical hotel. The room is simple, but clearly designed with comfort and convenience in mind. I was pleasantly surprised by the free hourly shuttle back to DMK, which was especially useful for my early flight. There’s no big restaurant nearby, but plenty of small places to eat within walking distance.

The place is close to Don Muang Airport and worked well for one or two nights. We took a motorbike taxi from Don Muang for 20 baht per person. It’s in a local neighborhood rather than right by the airfield. I’d call it a two-star budget hotel, which seems fair: nothing fancy, but that’s okay. The staff member was friendly and polite, and told us about the airport shuttle for the next morning, which was great. There’s free coffee at the lobby’s coffee bar. Our room was on the second floor. There’s no elevator, so that could be difficult for someone with a disability, though it wasn’t an issue for us. The room was small, with a slightly small queen bed, but fine for one night. The AC worked well and the shower was hot. We got two bottles of water and a kettle, but no coffee in the room. You can get coffee in the lobby. Cleanliness could be much better: there was dust in several places, the shower wasn’t clean, and there was some mold. The mattress was hard, as in many hotels in Thailand. There are plenty of local Thai restaurants nearby. I didn’t see a European restaurant, but a 7-eleven is not far away.
