Hotel Manhattan Sukhumvit Bangkok

I booked Manhattan Hotel for around AUD 100 a night, about twice what many basic nearby hotels cost, based on the photos and mid-range price. The room we got was shocking. The air-conditioning controller was broken, so there was no way to adjust the temperature. Raised wooden floorboards in several spots cut both my feet as I walked around. The sofa was stained and filthy, completely unusable, and marks covered the walls and surfaces, which clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned for a long time. This was more than old decor or a matter of taste. The room felt unsafe to walk in and unhygienic for guests. I arrived late after travelling and had no realistic way to move elsewhere right away, so I stayed reluctantly. The listing photos and the actual room were worlds apart. I uploaded photos so future travellers can see what it looked like and make an informed choice. I’ve also raised the issue formally with Agoda because I don’t want other guests walking into the same situation. These conditions aren’t acceptable at this price or, frankly, any hotel price. If management resolves it properly, I’ll update my review. Until then, travellers deserve to know what to expect.

We were very happy with our stay. The location and amenities were great, breakfast was good, and the hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. We didn’t use the laundry service because it seemed a bit pricier than laundry at other hotels in Thailand. Otherwise, no issues.

We’ve stayed here twice, and it’s convenient if you want somewhere a little quieter than a hotel right on the main road. The staff provide good service, and breakfast tastes good, though there aren’t many choices. The location is great, very close to Ashok BTS and Terminal 21 shopping mall. The bed was a bit short in length.

The shower water spread out toward the toilet, so I had to use towels to deal with it. Still, this was my favorite of all the hotels I stayed at. Maybe I got lucky, but my room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the location was great. I had a really good stay, would recommend it, and would definitely book again.
