We picked this condo because we were traveling as a family of four and couldn’t find a hotel room big enough. I also wanted a washing machine, since most hotels don’t have one in the room. It’s a condo where owners lend out their rooms for a while, and many residents live here without renting theirs out. There’s a garbage room on every floor, which makes sense for a place people live in. Cockroaches may show up in the hallways, but we kept leftover food out of our room and took it straight to the garbage area, and that kept them from coming in. The rooms’ cleanliness probably depends on the owner. Ours, the Heart Mark owner, was a woman who paid close attention to details, and we were very happy with her care. We had a great time. In a way, staying here gave us a look at a different culture while still in Thailand, and I’d recommend it to anyone interested in that kind of Bangkok experience. The condo is in the Arab quarter. I found the area dangerous for families with small children, though I also thought it was interesting. Maybe it was a chance for the kids to learn a little about society. Enjoy your time in Bangkok.

We booked an apartment through Airbnb and stayed in a flat for two nights. It was a pleasant, very quiet place.

The room was huge, and the bed was great. We had a fully furnished condo with everything we needed, even a medical kit. The kitchen and bathroom were excellent, the water was just right, and there were loads of power sockets. You can cook there, too, since they even provide frying oil, and you can watch Netflix. It’s very comfortable, with a 7-Eleven and McDonald’s nearby. I wish I could’ve stayed longer, but couldn’t.

The photos led me to expect something very different. This “condominium” is really a hotel, and it looks nothing like the pictures. There’s a cockroach and dirty laundry smell throughout the building, and it felt relatively unsafe. Nobody is at the security desk for most of the day. The pool and gym are filthy and unusable, and the clientele didn’t seem like the highest quality. It’s near what I’d call the more nefarious side of BKK, which added to the unsafe feeling. Don’t make the mistake I did by trusting the photos.

It might work on a budget if you’re single, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with a family or girlfriend. The conditions are poor and there are roaches. The neighbor’s kids are loud and unruly. I can see why there are basically no Thai people living here.
