The room was dirty when I arrived. I had to ask them to change the bed and clean hair off the bathroom floor, and although they did, the place still felt badly maintained. A strong musty smell and plaster coming away from the walls made me think there could be mold. I booked because the reviews were good, but I wasn't put in the main building. My room was on the ground floor of a small alley, among local homes. Noise from children, TVs, people talking, doors slamming, running water, and other sounds went on from early morning until late at night. I barely slept during my three nights there. If you book, I'd strongly recommend insisting they don't put you on that street (temple view).

The temple and Golden Mount views from some rooms are amazing, and great for photos. The hotel is tucked on a quiet street in Bangkok Old Town, while still close to everything.

We stayed in room 502 for three nights in December, 2024. The place was very clean, with a nice firm bed, strong shower pressure, and a lovely view. The balcony is small, but comfortable to sit on after the day's heat has passed. It was surprisingly quiet despite being in a residential area near a market. We never met the owner, but messages through Booking were handled really well. The main drawback is the distance from all Skytrain and MRT stations. It's well placed for the royal palace and Khao San Road, though not much else.

Bas was a lovely host, really kind and helpful. His parents live in the building too and were just as helpful and kind. The room was lovely, and the view is the best in town. The neighborhood is great and most Bangkok sights are within walking distance. Highly recommended!
