Loftel Station Hostel

The lack of an elevator and the noise were the main things that took away from my stay at Loftel Station Hostel. I had a heavy suitcase, and carrying it up several narrow flights of stairs was exhausting. I was drenched in sweat by the time I reached my room. Anyone with mobility issues or lots of luggage should keep that in mind. Street sounds from the nearby main roads carried on late into the night. Even with earplugs, I could hear motorbikes and buses, and as a light sleeper I struggled to get a solid night's rest. There were good points, too. The hostel has a stylish industrial feel, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Being so close to Hua Lamphong was handy for catching a train. I liked spending my first afternoon in the common area, which felt like a hidden gem amid the city's chaos. I wanted to love the place, but for me it was a mixed bag, about three out of five. It could work as a stylish budget crash pad for a night, especially for social travelers, but it wasn't the peaceful place I needed after a long day exploring.

Traffic from the road was constant, but it didn't keep me from sleeping. The price was good, and the staff deserve credit for continually cleaning both the rooms and shared bathrooms. Everything was very clean, and I'd be happy to stay again.

A friendly hostel at a fair price, in a good location. The reception is open 24 hours, and the air conditioning works well.

The traffic noise was incredibly loud and never let up. Everything looked very old, and the place urgently needs renovation. Worst stay I had in Thailand.
