LoogChoob Homestay

We chose the family suite on the 5th floor, and it seemed like the best option for the money. Inside the room, the tasteful furnishings, artwork, elegant decor, and little details were a lovely surprise. The location is convenient for attractions without being caught up in the city centre’s bustle. The owner is a very kind lady. We were a little wary when asked to take off our shoes before entering the lift, but once we saw the room, it made sense.

Sukanya and her family have put a lot of care into making this b&b feel like home. The interiors are beautifully done, with a luxurious feel, and nothing was missing, even when I wanted a Singha beer in the middle of the night. It’s my favourite place to stay in Bangkok. Getting here by airport taxi is easy, and many of the main BKK sights are within walking distance. Ask for a junior suite, it’s worth the price. The rooftop view is lovely too.

There’s a market close by with lots of good food, so it’s easy to eat like a local. The Homestay isn’t close to BTS, but a Grab car can pull up right outside, and the nearby pier is a short walk away for boats to MBK or Chitlom. The rooms and facilities were well maintained and matched what I saw on their official website. I thought it was great value and a place that exceeded expectations. I’d stay here again and recommend it to solo travellers, couples, or families.

The family running Loog Choob are terrific and do a lot to make your time in Bangkok enjoyable. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and well equipped, and the shared areas feel just like the photos, airy and comfortable. It’s a home away from home and a peaceful oasis in the busy city. The photos give a real sense of the place. This part of town is outside the usual tourist district, with authentic food and eating experiences. Public transport isn’t right nearby, but a cheap, short TukTuk or Taxi ride gets you to the nearest station. I thought that little extra trip was worth it for such a real part of the city. You can also walk to the BTS and most major attractions, as I did during my 10 days there, though it’s a sweaty walk. If you’re unsure, take a TukTuk. I’ll definitely stay again.
