Nandha Hotel

The building has a bicycle theme, with classic bikes and design touches all around. Rooms are clean and well appointed, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Nandha is just off a main strip, close to a major street but still clean and quiet. It's a four-minute walk to Sukhumvit and ten minutes to the BTS, with restaurants, 7-11, coffee, and other conveniences along the way. We've stayed here before and will again.

The plumbing was a mess: all night I heard water running in the toilet and that farting sound. They tried to move me to a second room when I asked, but the shower there held water like a pool. I didn't want to make a big deal of it until they backed out of their promise. I also showed Nurng a video of the toilet noise, but she didn't care and smiled as if she thought I was lying. She brought in her boss from the bakery. My first night was awful. A worker made construction noise next to my room, then sat in a chair outside and kept yelling, waking me early. I'm a heart patient and had picked this place based on reviews saying it was away from the hustle and bustle. I couldn't sleep and was getting short of breath, so I decided to pay for another night to get some rest. Earlier, Nurng at the front desk had said she'd change my checkout to 2 PM when I asked. I didn't use that late checkout and took a rain check on it when I bought the extra night. On the evening of April 21, I asked Peter if I could use the late checkout Nurng had approved. He acts like he understands English but doesn't. I even used a translator for Thai, but he couldn't make decisions. He was stingy with toiletries, and wouldn't give me a trash bag from 7 Eleven so I could replace mine, even though housekeeping only worked until 12 or 1 and my condition meant I woke up late. I asked three times whether he needed to check with someone, because I didn't know who his boss was and didn't want to be charged an extra 500 baht the next day. He said, 'No, no, you don't have to,' and promised I could use the rain check. His name is also Chozo. On April 22, staff called at 1:15 PM to ask whether I was checking out. I explained I'd talked with Peter and translated for him. Nurng rudely told me Peter wasn't even Thai and had no authority to make decisions. She then refused the late checkout she'd promised and said I had to pay 500 baht extra. I woke up late based on Peter's word, so this felt like a broken promise. I don't trust these ladies. They change their story. The policies are awful, they don't stand by what they say, and I felt dishonest and scammed. I question whether the reviews are authentic. I had planned to give them a lot of business, but the way I was treated put me off. I'd look elsewhere for a hotel where I can sleep, don't have to clean by myself, and don't get overcharged for every little thing.

The rooms are large and the beds are great, but the best part is the staff. They made me feel welcome whenever I came in, day or night. Nandha Hotel will be my new go-to in BKK. I used to stay around the corner at a five-star hotel for over 100 days, and honestly, this room was just as comfortable.

Big, clean rooms with an interesting decor, and the place is very quiet. No noise. The coffee on the ground floor is good.
