Maitria Hotel Sukhumvit 18 Bangkok – A Chatrium Collection

The rooftop pool and quiet setting were nice, and the rooms felt clean, fresh, and fairly modern. We stayed November 28-29, 2025, choosing a Deluxe one-bedroom for its location and washing machine. Terminal 21 is about a five-minute walk away, and the hotel sits on a low-traffic dead-end street. The large fridge and freezer, two hotplates, microwave, and kettle were useful. The washing machine, though, felt very worn and overdue for replacement. Breakfast scored 3 out of 10 for selection, quality, and value. I rated the whole stay 4 out of 10 for value, around the level of money thrown away to break-even, which I marked as 5. Breakfast and the old washer brought my rating down.

The breakfast was the biggest letdown: very little choice, poor quality, and flies and mosquitoes in the dining area, which felt unhygienic. I also found the room cramped for a four-star hotel, and the narrow alley where the property is tucked away made getting around with luggage inconvenient. After a long trip, being refused check-in just 30 minutes early despite rooms being available felt unwelcoming. The management seemed rigid. For the price, the facilities and service didn't match up, and there are better options nearby for the same budget.

Johnny and Grab deserve special thanks for helping us when our luggage chain broke. They were genuinely kind and went out of their way to get it fixed, which made the stay feel more personal. The rooms at Maitria Hotel were spacious, clean, and comfortable to come back to after a long day out. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. I'd recommend it for a comfortable stay and good service.

The road outside gets pretty busy, and the windows don't block much of the sound, so sleep earbuds might be useful. Apart from that, I didn't have much to complain about. Great location, food, and staff, with a really nice breakfast and a cafe downstairs if you need one.
