Malades House

The location was great, and the bathroom in the room was really nice. We only stayed one night. The air conditioning was hit and miss, and the beds weren’t very comfortable. At reception, the woman was pleasant enough, but she told us there was no lift. That was rough with our very heavy bags. The first room left us unimpressed, and about two minutes after we went in, a lizard dropped from the ceiling and ran into a corner. They let us move to a room on the fourth floor. It was still underwhelming, though the price was cheap, so I hadn’t expected much. At least there was no lizard in that one.

Please be careful before booking here. I reserved and paid through Expedia, but when I arrived to check in, the front desk woman said all the rooms were full and refused to let me stay. Even after I showed proof of the booking and payment, she wouldn’t listen and told me to contact Expedia to demand a refund. I did contact Expedia and requested a refund from the hotel, but the hotel never answered that request, and I never got my money back. I have to say, this felt like a scam. It was only one night, which is bad enough, but imagine if it had been a long reservation. I’d tell people not to book this hotel.

Just a two-minute walk from Khaosan Road, with plenty of food and bars nearby. The room was tiny, but clean and quiet, with no noise.

A good bedroom and a great place to stay. You can walk to places to eat, and Khao San Road is easy to get to.
