N5 Ratchawong Hostel

We only picked this place for its location, but liked it so much we stayed for our whole Bangkok trip. The staff were consistently helpful and friendly, and there were plenty of amenities and a well-kept common area. My favorite part was the rooftop. At sunset, I watched boats pass along the Chao Phraya river, and at night you could see Chinatown glowing. Highly recommend.

Getting around was easy, with the ferry nearby for trips anywhere and Chinatown and Song Wat Road close by. We had a double room with bunk beds and it worked well. The place was clean everywhere, and they ask you to switch into their slippers at the door. Staff were kind, the rooms were quiet, and there was free filtered tap water plus complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks. Highly recommend 👌

I could check in at 1am after letting them know ahead of time, and the place was fine for my one-night stay. It's reasonably priced and near Chinatown. The staff were welcoming and polite, and there were complimentary snacks and coffee. You change into the provided slippers and leave your shoes on the G floor, presumably to help keep things clean. My private room had its own bathroom, but the water smelled a little odd when I brushed my teeth. The walls are very thin, so I heard conversations and phone notifications from neighboring rooms, which made it hard to relax. Checkout also takes a while because they inspect every room, so leave some extra time if lots of guests are leaving together. I wouldn't stay again. I'd rather pay a bit more for a comfortable hotel than stay in a hostel.

The rooms and service were perfect, and the location was fine. There was a lot of traffic in the area, though, which sometimes made it hard to use Grab. I'd definitely recommend it to friends.
