We'd seen some worrying ratings and comments, but the hotel turned out better than expected. Our spacious double-room suite was comfortable and a good choice. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout, though breakfast was just average. Good value for money.

At checkout, they made us wait while a staff member checked the room, even though our taxi was waiting outside. We also weren't moved to a different room until the final day, despite complaining. Reception wasn't helpful, and communication was difficult because of the poor English. We'd booked a superior room, but it didn't look like the photos at all. It was dated and dirty, with dust everywhere, sticky marks on the walls and shelves, and broken, filthy blinds. I've never slept in a room that unpleasant. The information was misleading, cleanliness was very poor, service was bad, and the location was unpleasant. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The pool area was the best part for me, with shaded seats, a gym, and pool tables. Before I saw it, I wasn't very impressed. The rooms are pretty big but dated for the price, and there were LOUD SLAMMING DOORS on the third floor. There's a tuk-tuk to the main road, which is quite a walk away.

Our stay was pleasant until a small issue at the end left a bad impression. An ashtray broke by accident, and we were fine with reporting it and paying for a replacement. But they charged us for a new one and never gave us the ashtray. Paying for something we couldn't use felt unfair and unnecessary. If guests are charged for a replacement, they should receive it. This could have been handled in a much more customer-friendly way. I hope the resort improves how it deals with things like this, since the negative effect on the stay could easily have been avoided.
