Nego Home Ancient Hotel

Bangkok has plenty of food and places to explore around Nego Home Ancient Inn, right in the heart of the city. My room was clean and comfortable, and Dom was warm and helpful. I had a wonderful stay, better than I expected, and would happily return.

Ekkamai suited me well for a month. It has good places that cater to locals and people staying longer, without being overrun by tourists. There’s also less traffic and none of the rowdy party tourism I wanted to avoid. The room was decorated in a cute wood-cabin style, which sometimes made me forget I was in the city. I liked the terrace too, with a view and enough space for the two of us.

The little balcony and its tree were lovely, and the room was cozy, clean, and everything worked. It was quiet while I was there, so I slept well. There’s a kettle and fridge, plus a private water heater, which meant no shower problems in the morning. There’s no safe box, though, and the internet was so-so, so working would be a challenge. Reception wasn’t staffed day or night, but ringing the bell brought someone down. You enter through Jeff kitchen, and there’s no elevator, just a few stairs to climb. I liked the place and would book again.

The room was spotless, the staff were amazing, and the location couldn’t have been better. I’ll be back.
