New Siam Riverside

Being close to public transport, especially the Chaophraya river boats, was a big plus. I also loved spending time in the garden, watching the river flow and all the activity along it. Breakfast buffet each morning and fresh coconut drinks between meals made it easy to take things slowly. The people around us were friendly and quick with a smile. I sometimes missed having a longer conversation because of the limited English. Highly recommend this place!

We appreciated how polite and helpful the staff were, and the restaurant deserves a special mention for its food and service. We ate both lunch and dinner there throughout our stay because the food was the best option and saved us from having to look for other restaurants. The hotel is a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast wasn't our favorite, though it was satisfactory. We enjoyed our stay.

The location worked really well, especially for getting to a running event at Thammasat. For convenience, it does the job, but at this price I wanted more comfort and a nicer atmosphere. Breakfast felt lifeless and disappointing, and the guests seemed mostly older, which fit the property's quiet, dated feel. The room was clean, and housekeeping clearly kept up with it. Still, the space felt sad and tired, with furniture, lighting, and design that came across as neglected. The very high pillows were uncomfortable, and the worn, cheap-looking floor made the whole room feel budget. The corridors had a strong old smell too, like nothing had changed in decades. It felt aged, not charming. The people were the bright spot. Reservation staff were warm and smiling, and the male staff were genuinely kind and helpful.

The location is great, and the staff really improved the stay with their polite, sharp, cheerful manner and charisma. I'd come back. The rooms could use some maintenance, like fresh paint and more detailed cleaning around the lighting, power points, and Aircon, so I can't give the rooms five stars.
