New Suanmali Hotel

The king bed was comfortable and we slept really well. The building feels older, but it was clean enough, and we were happy with what we got for the price. There were a few bugs, but they didn't bother us much. We got rid of some ourselves, and it didn't affect the stay. The area is quiet and residential, though right by a busy road. A 7-11 is just across the street, and the attractions and good restaurants are within walking distance, although some were a long walk. We were up for it. Staff were kind and helpful, though we didn't interact much. The onsite laundry was handy for a small fee, and there's a 24-hour concierge. Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out, which was frustrating since one of us was working. We didn't ask about a fix or another option, and just muddled through. All in all, a peaceful stay. Thanks!

Once we found it, the room was nice and the bed was big. The hotel is hard to locate if you don't know Bangkok, and our taxi driver had to ask for directions twice. The shower in our room was awkwardly placed, so you had to press against the curtain to get under the water. The A/C worked well and cooled the room quietly. The hotel restaurant was basic, but quick and cheap. Staff seemed friendly and helpful, though they didn't speak much English. The King's Palace is about a 20-minute walk, and the main shopping area is roughly 20 minutes the other way. There aren't many restaurants nearby, mostly just 7 Elevens. It's best for someone who already knows the city.

The rooms were bigger than I expected, with a good layout, nice lighting, and clean floors and washrooms. Check-in was easy, and the front desk clerks were consistently helpful and respectful. It's a small hotel outside the main area, but the little details make up for that. I'd gladly stay again and recommend it.

There's plenty of parking on the hotel grounds, and the service is very good. The rooms are clean and nice, and the interior is well decorated. Free breakfast is included, with a choice of porridge or an American breakfast. Seems like a good place for a business or family trip.
